Workshop on Semantic Information and Communication: Towards a semantic 6G

WT Lab. Paris Research Center

Paris, March 7th - 8th, 2023

About the workshop

What is semantic information? How to design a semantic communication system? A semantic communication system to do what? What are the relations between semantic information and AI? While considering these problems is very general, this area has received, very recently a lot of attention from a community of researchers working on future 6G wireless networks. The main international experts in the field will present their visions on very recent results (part still unpublished), opening interactive discussions on the extraordinary opportunities that a semantic vision will offer to 6G systems and AI. This workshop will be the opportunity of presenting results towards a theory of semantic information as well as a semantic-guided design of 6G architectures and semantics at the physical layer.

The Workshop on Semantic Information and Communication, organized by Huawei Technologies in Paris on March 7 and 8, 2023 will gather the top experts in the field. Presentations will cover a broad scope of topics, ranging from theoretical aspects , algorithmic questions, to applications to wireless communications and machine learning.

In-person participation is encouraged, but all the technical presentations will be publicly live-streamed using the link provided below. This is our way of showing appreciation for the great work of the invited researchers, while giving back to the academic community at large. We also emphasize that all the presentations will cover recent but already publicly available results.

Location

The workshop will take place at the Lagrange Mathematics and Computing Research Center, located 103 rue de Grenelle in Paris, in the historical nineteenth century building that was used to terminate the Chappe optical telegraph. People who wish to attend in person have to use the contact address at the bottom of the page.

Online Attendance

The workshop will be live-streamed (no registration required). No recording will be made.
